Downtown Sub
The Downtown Sub layout was built while I lived in a town home in Woodbury, MN. It was built on 3 four foot straight modules and two short curve modules. The module sections were kits made by Masterpiece Modules, now out of business. It was built using Fox Valley Models Code 138 flex track and number 5 scale turnouts. It served a total of 5 industries when it was running. There was no staging yard so the train originated on the main line and used a siding for runarounds to spot all industries.
Most of the buildings on this layout were designed with a computer program, printed on regular paper, and glued to foam core board. These buildings mostly survive today and will probably be used again on future layouts.
The modules for this layout were originally used in the C&NW Waseca Sub layout. They were eventually removed as I expanded the layout. I saved these modules and they still exist today. I am not sure what I will do with them as I no longer use Code 138 track.
